Meet Head Teacher,
Maestra Sara Bergonzi
Sara comes to StudioLingua with over a decade of experience in early childhood education and art. After highschool, she attended a restoration school and obtained an Associate of Arts in specialized painting techniques to restore frescoes and paintings in Italy. When her children started preschool she became deeply inspired by the way their teachers worked with enthusiasm and professionalism. From there she pursued a career in early childhood education and never looked back. In Italy, she worked as a preschool teacher between 2007 and 2015. She received training in Milan as a teacher trainer and has attended several training sources at the Reggio Children International Center in the Reggio Emilia teaching approach.
In 2015, her and her family moved to Portland. She worked at Childswork Learning Center between 2016 and 2023 as a Lead Teacher and served as the primary mentor to new teachers, assisting with design of the art studio. She loves art in all forms and expressions and considers nature a source of inspiration and a place to recharge. In her free time she enjoys cooking, learning new recipes and enjoying them together with friends and family.

Meet Assistant Teacher,
Maestra Olivia Hunt
Olivia is a graduate of Portland State University with a Bachelor's degree in psychology and a double minor in Italian and music. At PSU she found great interest in human development and especially in early childhood education. Her passion for Italian and language learning comes from her family and her innate curiosity of culture. She has been fortunate to visit Europe, where she has traveled to Italy and France to spend time with family and explore art history. Both before and after PSU, she has worked in childcare at two preschools in Portland and volunteered at her local YMCA preschool during high school. She loves art, reading, and learning. While at PSU, she played for the Women's Lacrosse team and played flute in the PSU University Band.
Olivia is excited to be part of this new project and to help foster a fun environment for all children in the Portland community!
